The International Society for Self and Identity was founded to promote communication and collaboration among researchers who study the self and identity, to foster the scientific study of self, and to communicate knowledge about the self to the general public. Membership is open to social and behavioral scientists of all disciplinary affiliations--including, but not limited to psychology, sociology, psychiatry, communication, education, family studies, anthropology, and social work. With the introduction of the society's new journal (Self & Identity), there are now modest membership dues.

Membership includes a personal subscription to the journal, Self & Identity
- Professional membership in the ISSI is $43.00
- Student membership in the ISSI is $37.50
(Student ID required)

Persons who wish to join the International Society for Self and Identity may do so by completing the membership form and mailing it to the publisher
