Activities and Groups > NEWCOPE

NEWCOPE runs a drop-in center, telephone hotline, as well as offers presentations and on-site talks for campus organizations and residential dormitories. The mission of the Northeastern University Eating and Weight Concerns Project, or NEWCOPE, is to provide students with support through resources and information, as well as promoting awareness on issues related to eating disorders, weight and body image.

In a decade when the media inundates us with the message "thin is in," many young men and women struggle to come to terms with their own body image. Under the direction of Dr. Emily Fox Kales, a group of students initiated NEWCOPE to respond to the needs of students.
