Co-op > Other Opportunities

While many students participate in co-op, it is only one option among a variety of experiential education opportunities. Northeastern's reach extends into the surrounding community and around the world through study, research and service-learning projects.

 Study Abroad

Northeastern's innovative study-abroad programs offer more than just classes. We have extensive overseas contacts in 23 countries, meaning you can immerse yourself in another culture by undertaking an independent research project, work in an international co-op job or taking classes at a host institution.

 Service Learning

Service learning, which gives you a chance to gain academic knowledge while working in a community-based organization, can be incorporated into virtually any class.

 Faculty/Undergraduate Research

The Faculty/Undergraduate Research Institute supports students who assist faculty with important research. Participating students receive a stipend, spend about five hours a week on research and produce a research report that is presented at Northeastern's annual Experiential Education Expo.
