I am a first year graduate student in Professor Judith Hall's social lab working towards my PhD in social psychology. In general, I am interested in how people communicate nonverbally and how accurately others judge those nonverbal cues. In addition to basic research on interpersonally sensitivity and nonverbal communication, I am interested in how these concepts are applied to the doctor-patient interaction. We are looking at data from a population of medical students to see if differences in interpersonal sensitivity and gender affect behaviors with standardized patients. Another current research project looks at nonverbal communication and making accurate judgments about others over the Internet, specifically through social networking websites.
