I am a second year graduate student working towards my Ph.D. in the Causal Cognition Lab with Dr. Nancy Kim. I am interested in social cognitive questions and topics such as prejudice, stereotyping, and social categorization. My current research focuses on the mechanisms and moderating factors of the Contagion Effect, an empirical phenomenon in which contact between a source and an object or person is thought to permanently transfer the valence or properties of the source to the object or person. This effect has practical implications for irrational and hyper-avoidance behaviors, especially regarding stigmatized or diseased individuals.
